Tie UI settings to client instead of acct
Or at least give us the option, a la build templates.
I can understand the draw of storing the UI settings on the server side, for Net Cafe players and the like, so they don't have to set up their UIs every time.
But on the other side of the coin, some of us play GW on different computers. Depending where I am, I can be playing on a Windows PC in 1400x900, a Linux PC w/Cedega at 1024x768 (damn Ubuntu), or my Windows Laptop at 1200x768. Needless to say, while the clients all adjust resolution properly, the UI elements get very screwed up when signing into a different computer (nothing like the party list window taking up 20% of the screen).

I'd say /signed for allowing us to have configureable setups for our UI. I'd love to be able to setup a UI for Monking, and a UI for damage.

UI templates came up at the NCSoft event in Brighton. I seem to remember Izzy saying they were something he would love to have, but they would also be a huge amount of work.
I don't think we will see them in GW, but it could be fairly likely for GW2.

Agree. Every time I switch from laptop to PC, I have to set back resolution either to 1280x1024 or to 1280x768, change size of icons all the time and on my laptop I would like to have bunched up icons, as I don't have such huge screen as on PC.
Will be even worse when I get 22".

Maybe a check box to pull settings from a local file or the server

%GAME PATH%\GUILD WARS\Templates\UI\Character Name.txt
Then add a single option variable for each character:
- [X] "Use exclusive user interface settings"
Then, if a character has that option set, the client would check for that file.
If that file is not found, corrupt or with invalid values that cannot be set in-game, then it will use the account-wide settings.
Yup. That would do.

/sortasigned. I'd like to have the option to save it either/both ways.
